Pday "chats"

Video chats help us get through the weeks- sometimes it is easier to chat than others- In Ecuador you would call us from Street cafe's and sit in little booths in the back of the shop where you'd pay for internet time-- sometimes the reception wouldn't be good, and sometimes the sound would cut out.  One you were in Mesa, we got a lot more time with you on Pdays and the connection was always good... and we loved that!Sometimes we'd even do funny filters which the littles enjoyed particularly!

♥ from Hermana Miller Week 38 (6-23-2020)

Hey everybody! I'm here and still alive, but just barely, haha, it was 122 degrees when I got in the car! (Picture included for proof:) I am so happy, I can't even tell you. I got some new companions and a new area, and the Lord has blessed me with more than I deserve! I serve in downtown Mesa now, close to its beautiful temple. I love my companions! One is from Utah and the other is from Spain. They are so dedicated and focused and all around wonderful, and it has been a blessing to learn from them and be served by them. We taught 38 online lessons in 5 days! I even got to teach several people I was teaching in Ecuador and that made me cry lots. Ashly, a recent convert I had the privilege to help prepare for baptism in Ibarra, sent me pictures this week of her at her friend's baptism. She has another friend taking the discussions now. I feel so blessed to have been given the opportunity to see just a part of the ripple effect and see the Lord's hand behind the scenes. Really, all things testify of Him! He is at work and nothing (not a virus or civil unrest or anything else) can stop the work of the Lord. I hope you feel safe in His hands. I hope you trust His plan for YOU. And if you don't, but want to, I can promise you that His help and love are only a prayer away. I wonder what kind of miracles we would see in our lives and the lives of those we love if we would just take the time and be intentional enough in the way that we call upon the powers of heaven. It is something I have been thinking a lot about recently and trying to better at. I have the opportunity to talk to the God of heaven and earth every single day! How incredible is that truth? Do I take advantage of it? Do I take it seriously enough? Do I cherish it? I'm trying to be better, and I've found that my life is better and happier as I repent and work towards closing the gap between the heavens and me. So I invite you to think about the blessing it is to pray when you get on your knees this week. He wants you to feel His love. Speaking of prayers, you are all in mine! Thank you for all you do for me,

lots of love from Mesa,  Hermana Miller

Letter to President Andrews 6/22/2020

Welcome, Sadie Miller | Missionary Portal | Help | Sign Out Weekly Letter - 22 Jun 2020 22 Jun 2020 Miller, Sadie Jane Hi President, I have been so excited to email you this week. This week has been the grestest blessing. I absolutely love my companions, and my áreas, and Sister Romo who I live with, and absolutely everything. I'm just on cloud nine this transfer, my comps are so dedicated and we just work our tails off and fall into bed at night so happy and tired. We taught 38 lessons in five days! And the best part has been that everyday all day we just see miracle after miracle, and it is blowing my mind! Writing this email felt a little overwhelming just because it has been so great, and I'm so excited. The greatest spiritual experience of the week for me was getting to teach a lesson to a recent convert I had the opportunity to teach and learn from in Ecuador. She answered the phone and we both just started to cry. Her name js Ashly and she is 19. The coolest thing was she said, "Look what happened today, Hermanita!" And she sent us a picture of her hugging a friend of hers who was wearing a white dress. She had been baptized just hours before we called. Ashly has been sharing the gospel with her. Now she is teaching another friend and trying to get that one in contact with the missionaries so that she can also be baptized. It is just like a great big ripple effect that the Lord is letting me see a bit of His behind the scenes work and I am so grateful. I love the Lords perfect plan! By the way, Happy belated Fathers Day! Hope it was a great day for you, thanks for being the dad of the mission haha, we appreciate you so much!

♥ from Arizona week 37 (6-14-20)

Hola  a todos!
I have successfully completed one transfer in Mesa, AZ! Wow time flies.  I feel like I say that every week, too.  I’m sad to be leaving Apache Junction and its boonies desert charm, but I’m also really ready for a change.  My new area is more in downtown Mesa.
Summer is coming on for real now and that makes me a little nervous because in this new area I’ll be on a bike.  Quarantine will save me from it most days, but we’ll see 😊.  I’ve really come to love our district and our district sacrament meetings.  This week we talked about finding joy in the work- and this totally applies to real life too.  Our district leader stood up (he’s actually going home tomorrow so this was his last message as a missionary), and said, “ I have one simple invitation if you aren’t finding joy in the work [or in life], CHANGE.  And if you do feel joy, ask your Heavenly Father what you can do to have more of it.” Isn’t that so cool?! And he’s totally right- there’s no ceiling to how much God is willing to bless us.  So ask Him and live worthy of any blessings He sees fit to bestow upon you- and I promise He wants nothing more than to bless you with all he has.

Lots of love from Mesa,
Hermana Miller
