  What a week I've had!  My first full week with my new companion (from Peru) Hermana Maldonado.  She's a very obedient missionary and a hard worker and I can learn a lot from her.  This week we've decided to just go for it and extended two baptismal dates and they both accepted!  That was really exciting in the first week of a new transfer.  It's been a little stressful dissecting our area, but in a good way that leads to increased ability and growth.  

Elder Holland came to my mission! Something that he said that I loved was, "Man's extremity is God's opportunity."  I loved that-- something to ponder on, for sure. The spirit taught me so many things as I had the opportunity to hear from a consecrated servant of the Lord, one of His apostles, a prophet of God!  What a neat experience that was.  (and yes, each missionary got to shake his hand-- he said it was an interview by the spirit) See if you can find me in the big group picture... here's your clue-- I'm wearing the skirt Sandra made. 

Another thing he said that I loved was, "In the gospel of Jesus Christ you get what you want.  God respects agency. Satan cannot force you- God will not.  So you'll get what you want,  and if you'll let Him, something better."It's so true, isn't it?  So what do we want? What are we doing to work towards that goal? 

It was a memorable week, and I passed my 4 month mark, that's crazy.  Time flies when you're having fun!  (It's work, but there is JOY in it!)  As always, thanks for the love, support & prayers.

  We had a fun week.  I couldn't even tell you why exactly, but Hermana Anibarro and I just had a blast together. We have transfers in two weeks and I'm really hoping we can have one more together...we'll see how it works out.

Interesting things this week: I found SPIDER GIGANTE #2 in my house (I'm about to move out! Ha)  I was served an entire fish for one lunch, scales, eyes, everything-- and I even took a picture for you.  I got a flu shot and hiked to a statue and a lake and up the volcano near my house.  (It was a busy prep day!)  

This week for a spiritual thought I just want to remind you all that God is our loving Heavenly Father.  That isn't just a pretty quote or a nice idea for somebody else.  As we teach, I've found it' the #1 thing we need to understand- that we are HIS-- and if we do understand that, everything else falls into place. Take the time to talk to Him-about EVERYTHING!  He wants to hear from you. 

One person we're teaching says he just feels like a hypocrite when he prays, because he isn't as faithful in his prayers as he'd like to be.  So what?  We don't wait to go to the doctor until after we're not sick anymore- Talk to Him.  We told this guy, if all you can think of to pray about is explaining those feelings you have, that's okay.  He loves you and it will make Him happy to hear more than "please bless this food" or "we're grateful for this day." My invitation to you this week is to set aside time to have a CONVERSATION with you Heavenly Father.  He loves you more than anyone else and has the power to help and bless you in a very personal way.  See what happens....

Busy week- which is a great thing.   This week was interesting with New Years Eve festivities which include many paper mache/cardboard figures throughout the town- that at midnight- they light on fire.  (prob one of the reasons we were asked to stay inside by our mission president. :)  I'll attach a picture of my favorite one, a larger than life Toy Story character.  We had a baptism for  Ashly, which was so awesome; I think I must've been her friend in heaven- I am so happy to see her progress and take this step.  I think I'll send more photos (maybe in two emails because I can't seem to attach very many per email) this week than write very much because I don't have much time in this little shop where I am using the computer.
