♥ from Arizona week 37 (6-14-20)

Hola  a todos!
I have successfully completed one transfer in Mesa, AZ! Wow time flies.  I feel like I say that every week, too.  I’m sad to be leaving Apache Junction and its boonies desert charm, but I’m also really ready for a change.  My new area is more in downtown Mesa.
Summer is coming on for real now and that makes me a little nervous because in this new area I’ll be on a bike.  Quarantine will save me from it most days, but we’ll see 😊.  I’ve really come to love our district and our district sacrament meetings.  This week we talked about finding joy in the work- and this totally applies to real life too.  Our district leader stood up (he’s actually going home tomorrow so this was his last message as a missionary), and said, “ I have one simple invitation if you aren’t finding joy in the work [or in life], CHANGE.  And if you do feel joy, ask your Heavenly Father what you can do to have more of it.” Isn’t that so cool?! And he’s totally right- there’s no ceiling to how much God is willing to bless us.  So ask Him and live worthy of any blessings He sees fit to bestow upon you- and I promise He wants nothing more than to bless you with all he has.

Lots of love from Mesa,
Hermana Miller

♥ from Arizona week 36 (6-1-2020)

Hola!
Not much to report this week.  Quarantine life is hard- especially as a missionary.  But I'm grateful for the little and big ways I see the Lord's hand in my life and in HIS work.  We went on a hike (which was more like a 5 mile loop through a lot of cool cactus.)  It's starting to get really hot-- but being inside so much, I don't really mind it. This week I became an official driver after doing some training and a driving test- so I'm excited to drive a little bit on Arizona roads.  Also, when I was at the mission home for the test, I saw a picture of former Mission President Jenkins and his wife (They are from Nampa &  served as Mesa Arizona Mission Presidents before their current assignment in Boise Temple Presidency)  that just made my day because I it reminded me of  when I was a temple worker in the Boise Temple  before my mission--seeing their picture was like a piece of home and a piece of the temple- two things dear to my heart. I'll end with a scripture from the Book of Mormon: 1 Nephi 9:6 “But the Lord knoweth all things from the beginning; wherefore, he prepareth a way to accomplish all his works among the children of men; for behold, he hath all power unto the fulfilling of all his words. And thus it is. Amen.”
