Now is the time to prepare...

I love that the night Sadie got her call, she stayed up after we'd all said goodnight reading by flashlight in her bed capitulo uno en Nefi in EL LIBRO DE MORMON ( Nephi the Book of Mormon in Spanish).  Don't worry, I'm not going to type a bunch in Spanish. One thing I realized very quickly is that my foggy best efforts Spanish are quickly going to be surpassed by this sister missionary.  Even though I told Sadie she needed to get to sleep, I couldn't help but think that maybe GG and Opah had some unknown foresight in giving her that Spanish Book of Mormon awhile back.  I love that my Sadie bug has a heart that wants to prepare.  So many blessings in that.

So since her report date isn't until October, she's got big plans to refresh and learn more Spanish, study Preach My Gospel in Spanish, go to the MTC with a prepared talk and her testimony in Spanish, work in the temple every Friday morning between now and then and assemble a mess of a staging area of things to pack for Ecuador, and after watching every available online vlog, blog, and you tube video on how to pack and prepare for missionary service (I never knew there were so many of these on the internet- but she's always watching a new one-- no element of surprise in the mission prep stage)

It's here... we have an email!

Today was a big golf tournament for Skyview Varsity.  It was going great on the course until Roarke sent this text to Sadie, Emma and I.  Emma had checked her phone for the time (they aren't allowed to look at a phone otherwise) and she saw the text from Dad. (He had early acess to see when the call was assigned and right before the email showed up in Sadie's account.  Emma was playing in the group ahead of Sadie and dropped her club and went running to find her to tell her. 
As soon as Emma told Sadie, her golf game went downhill but Sadie didn't care-- she was giddy, even getting horrible scores.  This tournament couldn't end quick enough- we were all set up at home, ready for the big reveal at the end of the day's end.

 When she got home, she checked her email, but didn't open it until we were all ready and waiting.  (which ended up being a bit delayed because we had the pinewood derby in the evening)  We couldn't get out of there fast enough....
