♥ From Hermana Miller weeks 42 and 43

Hi everyone! Sorry I didn't write last week, it's been busy. I actually dont have much new to report. We have transfers tomorrow! My companion from Spain is going to go to another zone to go speak English in order to accommodate all the new missionaries coming in. They keep coming! The mission is pretty maxed out space wise. There are 7 missionaries in my ward and 5 of us sisters living in two bedrooms of this members house. They've bought more cars to keep as many of us air conditioned as possible haha, but I'm not one of those! Yep, they're taking my car tomorrow and I'm about to spend my summer in Mesa on a bike! :) But everything is only as fun as you make it right? So I'm telling myself that 115 degrees is the prime environment for a sick tan and that this bike is about to become a trusty steed. I actually splurged at Walmart to celebrate this, it cost me $4. Picture attached! :) Yep, not going to intimidate anyone with that on my handlebars.... so it'll be great. Our investigators, Sol and Vanessa are still on track to be baptized in August... they are so wonderful!

My invitation for this week: do you know how the people you are assigned to minister to are doing? Can you please check on them ASAP if you're not sure how to answer that question? We met the cutest member this last week and did some yardwork for her. We were asking her about the sacrament and she said she hadn't been able to reach anyone to bring it to her. We got in contact with her ministering member friends- they were so excited and happy to help her and she was so thrilled to he able to have the sacrament on Sunday. I can testify that ministering is a God given and orchestrated effort! Please find those you are assigned to love (and of course those you aren't assigned to too;) and give the Lord an opportunity to bless you to feel the great love He has for them. Its the feeling we are privileged to feel so often as missionaries, and it is wonderful! Please please please go out and find the one. There are so many people struggling in this time or are in need, (maybe for nothing more than company) but the Lord needs ready and willing servants to go out and find out how they can help. So many of you have been such great examples of service to me all my life. Thank you for all you've done and all you continue to do, especially all those unnoticed acts of small service and love. Please take some time this week to think about who you can love and bless. I can promise you as a special representative of Jesus Christ, if you will make a special effort to think about and then execute the promptings you receive this week about who and how to help, the Lord will bless you with an added measure of peace and light and faith to strengthen you and those you love in this time. I've seen him bless me in that way and it's a beautiful thing. Love you all lots, thank you for your prayers,
(If you dont hear from me next week, I died from heat haha;) .

♥ From Hermana Miller week 41 (7-13-2020)

Hello,
This week was hot. 117 degrees. We tried to cook an egg with the Elders outside in a pan on the pavement, but it didn’t work. This week we will do it with tin foil instead of a pan 😊
Quarantine is still in effect, but this week we got the news that we can do outside service! So this week we cleaned Brinka-Brinkas (bouncy houses) for a lady that rents them. We also got to weed a “garden”, it was a weed patch hahaha. It took all seven of us two hours. But it is so fun to get outside and do service together, and the people are so grateful. So, we are going to keep doing more of that this week.
As a quick spiritual thought, I read this quote this week: “He knows your name, and He knows your need.” I love that, it’s so powerful.
This week I had a particular worry that was eating away at me and making it hard to focus. It isn’t anything that anyone can do a thing about, but it was heavy on my heart all the same. So I had a good prayer about it and I felt a lot of peace. Then I realized how incredible that is. Because of Christ’s infinite atonement, He understands our pain even if it isn’t going anywhere right now. I know He understands it perfectly and I know that God knows my name and my need. So I can wake up in the morning and get on my knees and give it to Him and move forward. That’s pretty incredible. There are a ton of people with problems, situations, and worries, that are weightier than I could understand. But the cool thing is that His atoning power is the same. Because of Jesus Christ, we can get up one day at a time and trust him enough to be happy no matter the circumstance. It is another reason I am so grateful to be a missionary, because there are so many out there who wake up in the morning and feel drowned by heavy heartaches, fears, and a million other things, and they don’t know that there is a way up and out. And that way is Christ, and it doesn’t just sound good, it is real!
I love the quote, “The future is as bright as your faith.” He really does know your name and your need. Trust Him, things will work out. 😊
Love from Mesa,
Hermana Miller
