♥ From Hermana Miller week 41 (7-13-2020)

Hello,
This week was hot. 117 degrees. We tried to cook an egg with the Elders outside in a pan on the pavement, but it didn’t work. This week we will do it with tin foil instead of a pan 😊
Quarantine is still in effect, but this week we got the news that we can do outside service! So this week we cleaned Brinka-Brinkas (bouncy houses) for a lady that rents them. We also got to weed a “garden”, it was a weed patch hahaha. It took all seven of us two hours. But it is so fun to get outside and do service together, and the people are so grateful. So, we are going to keep doing more of that this week.
As a quick spiritual thought, I read this quote this week: “He knows your name, and He knows your need.” I love that, it’s so powerful.
This week I had a particular worry that was eating away at me and making it hard to focus. It isn’t anything that anyone can do a thing about, but it was heavy on my heart all the same. So I had a good prayer about it and I felt a lot of peace. Then I realized how incredible that is. Because of Christ’s infinite atonement, He understands our pain even if it isn’t going anywhere right now. I know He understands it perfectly and I know that God knows my name and my need. So I can wake up in the morning and get on my knees and give it to Him and move forward. That’s pretty incredible. There are a ton of people with problems, situations, and worries, that are weightier than I could understand. But the cool thing is that His atoning power is the same. Because of Jesus Christ, we can get up one day at a time and trust him enough to be happy no matter the circumstance. It is another reason I am so grateful to be a missionary, because there are so many out there who wake up in the morning and feel drowned by heavy heartaches, fears, and a million other things, and they don’t know that there is a way up and out. And that way is Christ, and it doesn’t just sound good, it is real!
I love the quote, “The future is as bright as your faith.” He really does know your name and your need. Trust Him, things will work out. 😊
Love from Mesa,
Hermana Miller
